PEARL HILL HEAD

Pearl Hill Head, 80, Goldsboro, passed away on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at Wayne UNC Health Care surrounded by her family.
Pearl was born in Lenoir County on July 9, 1937, to the late William Henry Hill and Josie Corinne Lee Hill. She was married to the late Dean Head, who preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2014. Pearl was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and was a dedicated and faithful servant. She was very involved in the work of the Free Will Baptist Orphanage in Middlesex and would participate in their homecoming celebrations each year. Pearl was the kindest and most loving mother and grandmother and a great friend to everyone. She will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know her.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wesley Johnson and Pete Williams officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Pearl is survived by her daughters, Angela Gail Letchworth of Goldsboro, Johnnie F. Lawrimore and husband, Jerry, of Chesapeake, Va., Paula Dean Letchworth Cobb and husband, Michael, of Wilson, and Pamela Jean Letchworth of Wilson; grandchildren, Staci Olmstead and husband, Joe, Andrea Gilbert and husband, Jacob, and Rachel Cobb; and four great-grandchildren, Mia, Alexander, Barrett, and Nicholas. She is also survived by her sisters, Margie Casper and husband, Billy, and Janice Lee Cole; brothers, William Jerry Hill and wife, Sue, and Ted Hill; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Little Paul Letchworth.
The family will receive friends following the service Tuesday evening at Seymour Funeral Home, and at other times at her home in Kirkwood Retirement Community and the home of her daughter, Pamela Jean Letchworth in Wilson.
