ROY THOMAS RENFROW

Roy Thomas Renfrow, 88, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Roy was born in Sampson County Nov. 4, 1929, to the late Willie Anderson Renfrow and Mamie Harrison Renfrow.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and the United States Coast Guard.
Roy retired from the city of Goldsboro as the chief of police.
Roy was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Sudan Temple of New Bern, and was a Shriner and Scottish Rite Mason.
He was also a member of Goldsboro Elks Lodge No. 139 B.P.O.E. and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Roy was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate his life in the chapel at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Randy Outland officiating. A private interment with military honors will be held at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Roy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred Swinson Renfrow; daughter, Debbie Leigh Robertson and husband, Garry; daughter-in-law, Kathy Garrett Renfrow; four grandchildren, Kelly R. Mendez and husband, Mark, Travis Pate and wife, Susan, Garrett Renfrow and Ronni Renfrow; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Thomas Renfrow; brothers, B.A. Renfrow and James Milton Renfrow; and sisters, Lillie Bradshaw, Dorothy Westbrook and Virginia Royal.
