Iva Jean Shaw Moore, 70, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Jean was born in Roanoke Rapids Jan. 30, 1947, one of eight children, to the late Willie and Nellie C. Shaw.
She was a member of Mount Zion Free Will Baptist Church in Kenly.
Jean was the rock of her family; her husband and children knew that she loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them.
A service to celebrate Jean's life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Mount Zion Free Will Baptist Church, 9300 Johnson Farm Road, Kenly, N.C. The Rev. Lewis Godwin and the Rev. Braxton Carter will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
Jean is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald Henry Moore; son, Kenneth Wade Moore and wife, Janet; daughters, Donna Jean Sasser and husband, Jeff, and Tina Bradshaw and husband, Chris; five grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Mount Zion Free Will Baptist Church, 9300 Johnson Farm Road, Kenly, N.C., 27542.
