RAY B. PENDERGRASS

Raymond Boyd Pendergrass, 74, known as Ray to most, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at his home.
He was a resident of Mount Olive, and worshipped with his wife at Faison Baptist Church.
He was retired from Variety Wholesalers with whom he had been a regional retail manager.
He had also served in the United States Navy.
Ray is survived by his wife, Lois Quinn Pendergrass of the home; a son, Jeff Pendergrass and his wife, Kelly, of Fuquay-Varina; a daughter, Amy Pendergrass and her significant other, Christy Johnson, of Belews Creek, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Sydney, Quinn and Eli Pendergrass.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernel and Esther Pendergrass, and three brothers, Clyde, Carl and Leon Pendergrass.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, officiated by the Rev. Andy Beard and the Rev. Paul Rose, with burial following at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home during the hour before the service and at other times, at the residence.
