Mrs. Sandra Lee Hall Thornton, 76, Kinston, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A native of Nash County, Sandra was born Sept. 24, 1941, the daughter of William Vernon Hall and Hazel Lee Pulley Hall Coffman.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Sandra was a retired hairdresser, and loved traveling.
Her surviving family includes her husband, A.J. Thornton of the home; daughters, Cynthia Thornton Whitmire of Goldsboro and Tamera Thornton Buff and husband, Michael, of Dudley; son, Anthony Jay Thornton and wife, Tonya, of Pikeville; sister, Marion Howell of Hampton, Va.; and grandchildren, Christopher Whitmire and fianceé, Devin Wheeler, Andrea Whitmire and fiancé, Joseph Aromando, Seth Buff, Zachary Buff and fianceé, Samantha Tusing, and Allen Thornton.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Snow Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Osborn Wade officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the residence.
