Mrs. Rosalind Uzzell Hogan, 65, 1611 Boyette Drive, Goldsboro, passed Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Wayne UNC Health Care of Goldsboro, N.C.
The celebration of her life will be held Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Association Headquarters, 1800 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, N.C., with elder Timothy Dortch officiating. She will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C.
There will be a visitation held Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Word of Truth Christian Fellowship, 1401 N. Carolina St., Goldsboro, N.C.
She was born May 25, 1952, in Wayne County, N.C., to Robert Lee and Margaret Marie McLaurin Uzzell.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Hogan of the home; her children, Juanyenee Griffin, Courtney Brown and Crystal Gumby; two sons, who preceded her in death, Melvin Hogan Jr. and Marvin Hogan; and grandchildren, Melvin Hogan III, Davon Hogan, Matthew Hogan, Diamond Hogan, Sarell Hogan, Carl Cameron, Kerria Cameron, Carmello Cameron, Caleb Morrow and DeAndre Griffin Jr.
Rosalind was a Goldsboro High School class of 1970 graduate.
After high school, she attended the Raleigh Business College in Raleigh, N.C., and earned her associate degree in business.
She loved her family, loved to travel and see new places and was a member of Word of Truth Christian Fellowship, Goldsboro.
She worked at the United States Post Office for 32 years, retiring in 2007, remaining in contact with her coworkers.
She was the director of Woods Chapel Day Care Center.
