ROLAND C. BRASWELL

Roland Clifton Braswell, 91, of Goldsboro, passed away Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late John and Edna Sasser Braswell.
Mr. Braswell was a retired attorney, former member of the North Carolina State Bar Association and the Wayne County Bar Association. He served in World War II in the United States Navy and was a former member of the North Carolina House of Representatives. He was a member of Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church where he had served as a deacon and choir member.
A funeral service will be held Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Ronnie Heath officiating. The family will receive friends following the funeral service at the church. Committal services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Braswell is survived by his wife, Mary Braswell; a daughter, Louise A. Braswell of Kinston; a son, John Braswell of Sumter, S.C.; a brother, Henry L. Braswell and wife, Carolyn, of Goldsboro; stepchildren, Jackie Beers and husband, Michael, of Bumpass, Va., Jim Grimsley of Atlanta and Jasper Grimsley and wife, Verna, of Grifton; grandsons, Michael and Matthew Braswell; and stepgrandchildren, Corey Roush and Henry Johnson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise B. Cates and a brother, Robert Braswell.
