Quietly Friday morning, Rosa Lee Artis, 90, passed away at Brian Center in Goldsboro, N.C.
She was born Thursday, May 12, 1927, in Wayne County to the late Willie Artis and Sudie Howell Artis.
She is survived by her children, Donnie (Jennifer) Artis of Queens, N.Y., Rosa Mae Kornegay, Wanda (James) Hunter, Brenda (John) Sanders, Linda Savage and Tyrone (Madine) McEachern all of Goldsboro, N.C., Wanda (Carl) Eason and Lafeyette Arts both of Princeton, N.C., and Timothy (Kenya) Artis of Dudley, N.C.
The celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Morning Star Holiness Church of Fremont, with Bishop Alton A. Smith officiating. Her mortal frame will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, U.S. 117 South.
Visitation Friday from 2 to 7 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Haskins Funeral Home. At other times, the family will receive friends at 206 Gerald Lane, where it will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
