Mr. William Nick Swinson, lifelong farmer of the Beautancus community, passed away Sunday morning, July 2, 2017, at his home at the age of 86.
His life will be remembered in a service to be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Tyndall Funeral Home.
Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home, and at other times, the family will be at the home.
Burial will be Thursday, July 6, at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Susan Wells and the Rev. Paul Rose will be the officiating ministers.
Mr. Swinson had served in the United States Air Force, serving in Korea, and was a lifetime member of Stanford Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin Macon Swinson and Stella McArthur Swinson, and a sister, Edna S. Smith and husband, Ray.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Lib" Bullock Swinson; a son and daughter-in-law, Vic and Teresa Swinson of the Beautancus community; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda S. and Casey Hash of Elk, Va., and Patricia S. and Chris Cipriani of Clayton; two grandchildren, Lee Swinson of the Beautancus community and Katie Swinson of Kenansville; a great-grandson, Hogan Jernigan; a sister, Gail S. Holland and husband, Kermit, of the Beautancus community; and a special friend, Bobby Best, also of Beautancus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Stanford Church, c/o Ann Stringer, 371 Red Hill Road, Mount Olive N.C., 28365.
