BOBBY G. PRICE
April 4, 1961-May 5, 2017
Bobby Gene Price, 56, of Goldsboro, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017.
Bobby was born April 24, 1961 in Wayne County to Grace Thompson Price and the late Raymond Tyndall Price. He graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College with degrees in English and philosophy. A talented writer, Bobby wrote and published three books of poetry. He poured himself into research and gaining knowledge. He especially enjoyed stirring the pot and debating politics.
Bobby was an avid UNC Tarheel basketball fan and was thrilled to be able to see his beloved Tarheels win their sixth national championship in April. Nothing was better to Bobby than mama’s fried chicken and turnip greens. Barbecue or a double cheeseburger from Ken’s Grill always hit the spot and he enjoyed fish on Friday nights and breakfast on the weekends at The Lantern Inn. His family has fond memories of his homemade cheesecakes.
Bobby enjoyed history and had a great appreciation for things from earlier times. A sweet, loving son, father and brother, Bobby loved family get-togethers with both the Thompson and Price families.
A time of visitation and fellowship to celebrate and honor Bobby’s life will be held Monday, May 8, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange.
In addition to his mother, Bobby is survived by his son, Taylor O’Conner Price; siblings, Ray Price, Carol Lynn Beasley and Bobbie Raynor; niece, Elizabeth Price; and his former wife, Sharon Price.
