Emma Matthews Pennington, 97, of Stantonsburg, died Friday, April 28, 2017.
She was a member of Watery Branch FWB Church, where the funeral will be held, Sunday, at 6 p.m., followed by time of visiting and sharing. Burial, Monday, 11 a.m., Maplewood Cemetery, near the flagpole.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Cynthia "Cymp" Hardison, Jennifer Webb, Marty Pennington, Jay Hardison (Ann), and Robert Honeycutt; great-grandchildren, Brandon Hardison (Mimi), and Justin Lake; several nieces and nephews, including a special and devoted niece, Peggy McKeel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. D. and Ella Walston Matthews; daughter, Bettie Lou Honeycutt; son, Gene Pennington; grandson, Eddie Hardison; sisters, Nettie Matthews, Nona Floars, and Gertrude Moore; and brothers, Herman, Dennis and Durwood Matthews.
The family will be at the home of Jay and Ann Hardison, 4206 Evansdale Road, Wilson.
