GLADYS B. WELLS
March 22, 1934-April 21, 2017
Gladys Blackman Wells, 83, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Friday, April 21, 2017, at Wayne UNC Healthcare.
Gladys was born in Wayne County March 22, 1934, to the late Clarence Blackman and Edna Marie Pollock Blackman.
She had worked for many years as a music therapist with Cherry Hospital.
Gladys was a member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, where she had served as organist and pianist since she was 13 years old.
She brought joy, laughter and love to everyone she met.
For many years, Gladys conveyed her joy of music to students all over Goldsboro through her many teaching jobs.
Gladys will always be loved by her daughter and grandsons, and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 25, 2017, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Gladys' life at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with pastor Colby Leonard and pastor Linda Grider officiating. Interment will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Carla Elizabeth Sauls, and three grandsons, Fred A. Vance III, James Timothy Sauls and Kevin Michael Sauls.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Grady.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Gladys' memory to Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, 2802 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or perform an act of kindness or listen to some music with Gladys in mind.
