JULIA PAYNE BEAL
June 20, 1917-April 16, 2017
Julia Payne Beal died peacefully April 16, 2017, at Roxboro Healthcare in Roxboro, N.C., at age 99.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Julia and husband, Robert Van Nutt from New York, N.Y., and her son, Ed and wife, Cindy Beal, who live in Roxboro, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia Leola Payne and John Clyde Payne from Thomasville, Ga., and her three sisters and one brother, Iris Boyle, Clara Dyche, Bunny Johnson and Earnest Payne.
Her husband, Walter Edwin Beal Sr., of 40 years was killed in an auto accident in 1972, and she never remarried.
Julia Payne was born June 20, 1917, in Crosland, Ga., and graduated from both high school and college.
She had an outstanding work career as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant in numerous locations.
She was a faithful member of Saint Luke Methodist Church in Goldsboro, N.C.
She always loved arts and crafts, scrapbooking, reading, bingo and all types of needlework.
A funeral is scheduled for April 21, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro, N.C. The Rev. Adam Seate will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Luke Methodist Church in Goldsboro, N.C.
The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers at Roxboro Healthcare and Cambridge Hill Assisted Living both in Roxboro for their dedicated care.
