Beverly Jones Dail Ezzell, 79, known to all as “Lady,” died suddenly Good Friday morning, April 14, at home in the Pleasant Grove community, Albertson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 17, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with visitation afterward. Burial will be Tuesday, April 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs.
Lady had been a longtime employee of the shirt factory in Kinston, then she was employed at the R-Mart grill at Albertson, had worked with local poultry farmers with eggs, and had been an elderly caregiver for many. She worshipped at Daly’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church at Liddell.
She is survived by a nephew whom she raised and loved as a son, James Lee “Peanut” Jones, and his companion, Laura Lucas, of Albertson; great-nephews, thought of as grandsons, Devin Jones and Bryan Jones, his wife, Ami, and their sons, Brayden and Kaleb Jones, all of Beulaville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Marie Jones of Seven Springs, and Commie and Ann Jones of Pikeville; and several other nieces and nephews whom Aunt Lady loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James W. and Julie Ella Newman Jones; her two husbands, Delmas Dail and Stephen Ezzell; a sister, Elizabeth Marie Jones; an infant brother, Robert Jones; and two brothers, Grover Earl Jones and James W. “Pete” Jones.
