Raymond Peek Wood Jr., Warsaw, spent his career in law enforcement. First with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, then as the Warsaw police chief for 34 years.
His life will be celebrated Wednesday, April 12, 2017, with a visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in Powell Hall at Warsaw Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Peek Wood and Eunice Quinn Wood.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Taylor Wood; son, Jim Edmundson; daughter, Angela Riddick (Ike); grandchildren, Steven Douglas Edmundson, Matthew Riddick (Tamara), Hunter Riddick and Cameron Riddick; sister, Donna Wood Ogburn (Dewey); and niece, Kay Salley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
