David Franklin Cobb Sr., 73, Smithfield, died early Wednesday morning, March 22, 2017, in SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
Born April 7, 1943, in Johnston County, he was the son of Alma Mclamb Cobb of Princeton and the late Franklin David Cobb.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Ezell, and a niece, Dana Dale.
David was a longtime member of Princeton Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dwayne Batten and the Rev. David Toulson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday just prior to the service.
Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Brenda Parker Cobb of Smithfield; son, David Franklin Cobb Jr. and wife, Janet, of Stantonsburg; daughters, Tonia Elmore and husband, Donald, of Memphis, Ind., and Lori McLamb and husband, Jerome, of Four Oaks; brother, James T. Cobb and wife, Barbara, of Raleigh; sisters, Lillian King and husband, Buddy, of Kenly and Edna Edwards and husband, Harold, of Princeton; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
