LILA MAE PRICE

Lila Mae Outlaw Price, 79, known to some as "Pingy," resident of the Outlaw's Bridge/Pleasant Grove community near Albertson, passed away peacefully Saturday night, March 18, 2017.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 20, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, officiated by pastor Mark Hobbs, with Bob Kornegay offering remarks and special readings.
Visitation will follow the service.
Burial will be Tuesday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at Lonnie Outlaw Cemetery.
Lila Mae was a member of the 1955 graduating class of Grady High School. She completed a course in beauty culture in Goldsboro, and began operating Lila's Beauty Shop at her home.
After many years of being a beautician, she embarked on a new career of being an insurance agent.
Too, she served as hostess at several restaurants and found employment in a dress shop and at Belk and lastly, at Lowe's.
For the last 20 years or so, she had resided at Surf City, but always considered Outlaw's Bridge Road home.
She was a member of the Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Alice Barton Jones and husband, Jerry, of Beulaville, Lisa Price Blizzard and husband, Tim, of Albertson and David Price of Albertson; nine grandchildren, Suzanne Barton Taylor, J.J. Jones, Ashley Jones Brinkley, Victoria Barton Zell, Tyler Blizzard, John Robert Barton III, Taylor Blizzard, Tracey Parkhurst and Lila Joy Price; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Linwood "Skint" Outlaw and wife, Joyce, of Mount Olive; three sisters, Doris O. Gadberry of Midlothian, Va., Joyce Evelyn O. Hinson and husband, Levy, of Mount Olive and Jo Ann O. Pate and husband, Ricky, of Mount Olive; and many nieces and nephews.
Those who had preceded her in death include her two husbands, John Robert Barton and George Washington Price; two sons, G.W. Price Jr. and John Robert "Steeny" Barton; her parents, Lonnie and Alice Outlaw; and four sisters, Virginia O. "Bookie" McNaughton, Mary Alice O. "Dick" Edwards, Reba Jean O. "Shug" Jones and Ernestine O. "Tootsie" Hudson.
