RUSSELL COBB NICKENS

Russell Cobb Nickens, 92, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Russell was born in Wayne County Feb. 2, 1925, to the late James Ransom Nickens and Sudie Jane Underhill Nickens.
He enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends.
Russell was a valued employee of Lance Inc. for 30 years.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a private committal service at the mausoleum chapel in Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Sarah Williams officiating.
Russell is survived by his wife of 71 years, Alma Bernice Mozingo Nickens; daughter, Beverly Nickens Marley and husband, Morris, of Winston-Salem; son, Larry Nickens and wife, Gail, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Sarah Nickens Williams and husband, Gray, and Jason Marley and wife, Elizabeth; and two great-grandchildren, Chandler Marley and Bradley Williams.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
