SHEILA K. ROUSE
April 26, 1952-March 2, 2017
Sheila Kilpatrick Rouse, 64, Seven Springs, was welcomed into heaven Thursday, March 2, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family.
The oldest of five children, Sheila was born April 26, 1952, to Jewel Dawson Kilpatrick and the late Thomas Franklin Kilpatrick.
Sheila was a retired registered nurse, and devoted her life to taking care of others.
She was loved dearly by all who knew her. She often placed the needs of others ahead of her own needs.
She was known for her kind and compassionate demeanor, as well as her unparalleled ability to cook. Sheila relished country cooking, and her family has many fond memories of her collards, cornbread and pecan pie.
Summertime was a favorite time of the year for Sheila. She enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables and jelly, trips to the beach and basking in the sun.
Alongside her husband, Spot, she was instrumental in the development of S&S Ranch. Together they enjoyed trail riding and golf cart rides around the ranch, and loved quiet times around the pond.
Sheila lived a life of service to others, and had a special way of taking care of the people she loved. Sheila was tenderhearted. She was known for, and sometimes even teased for, her tendency to cry while watching movies or even television commercials.
She had a strong love and passion for animals. Most of her life, she chose to surround herself with dogs and horses, and in the last several years, especially enjoyed watching the songbirds in her backyard.
In her happiest moments, Sheila was surrounded by her devoted husband and her loving family. Her smile was as bright as a ray of sunshine, and she set an example for her children and grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.
A service to celebrate and honor Sheila's life will be held Sunday, March 5, 2017, at 3 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Shew officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery.
In addition to her mother, Sheila is survived by her husband of 30 years, Julius "Spot" Rouse; six children, Brian Odom and wife, Geishla, Christy Kennedy and husband, Lee, Amy Whaley and her friend, Danny Medlin, William Rouse and wife, Sonya, Matthew Rouse and wife, Jenna, and Brandon Rouse and his wife, Sabrina; 12 grandchildren, Joey, Emily, Zackary, Connor, Will, Ivey, Thomas, Maxton, Lincoln, Jurney, Tinley and Jake; four siblings, Thomas Franklin "Sonny" Kilpatrick II and wife, Jennie, Ranie K.
