Thomas Henry Morris, 78, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Thomas was born in Abbeville, S.C., Oct. 14, 1938, to Verna Watson Morris and the late John H. Morris.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and retired as a senior master sergeant. Thomas’ valor and skill were recognized by the Air Force with numerous decorations.
He was a life member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars.
A service celebrating the life of Thomas will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at 6 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Lynwood Boyette officiating.
The family will greet friends Thursday following the service at the funeral home.
A private interment will be at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Elaine Nelson Morris; daughter, Stephanie Howard and husband, Jeffrey, of Mount Olive; daughter, Debra T. “Tommie” Coleman and husband, Robert, of Oakwood, Ga.; son, J. Andrew Morris and wife, Linda, of Oxnard, Calif.; and daughter, Jo Lynn Knight and husband, Mitch, of Modoc, S.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
