WILLIAM EUGENE HOWE JR.

William Eugene “Hoot” Howe Jr., 74, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Howe was born in Richmond, Ky., July 31, 1942, to the late William E. Howe Sr. and Susie T. Howe.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Howe worked as an occupational therapist at Cherry Hospital until his retirement, and he was a member of Goldsboro Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. No. 139, and was a past exalted ruler.
He especially enjoyed birding, traveling, music and spending time with family and friends, especially “The Boys.”
Mr. Howe is survived by two sons and one grandchild, Todd, Dawn and Ethan Howe of Goldsboro and Sean Howe and Ashley Reboli of Goldsboro; sister, Bobbi Goodhart of Pikeville; niece, Jennifer Kimbrough and husband, Tom, of Goldsboro; nephew, Robby Goodhart and wife, Robin, of Apex; great-niece, Taylor Worley of Goldsboro; great-nephew, Darin Jones of Apex; and sweetheart, Peggi Mauney of New Bern.
The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home Sunday, Jan. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at Eastern Carolina Veterans Cemetery Monday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Harold Caldwell officiating.
