Miss Edna Earle Price, known to friends and family as Polly, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at the age of 87. She was a resident of Clemmons, N.C.
Polly was a native of Seven Springs, N.C.
After high school graduation, she relocated to the Winston-Salem area, where she enjoyed a 39-year career with Wachovia Bank, beginning as a teller and working her way upward being assistant vice president and manager of the West End Branch of Wachovia Bank at the time of her retirement.
During her career, she participated in many banking courses and was, for a short time, a member of a national women’s association for women officers.
Later she became a member of Credit Women International, and was a certified credit professional through this membership.
Polly is survived by two sisters, Minnie Ruth Gann and Violet Dickerson both of Seven Springs; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence Harvey and Ann Price of Williamsburg, Va., Cletus B. and Annette Price of Durham and Eugene and Sheila Price of Seven Springs; another sister-in-law, Alma Ray Price of Seven Springs; several nieces and nephews and their families; and many dear and devoted friends to include Nancy Stump of Seven Springs, Glenna Billings of Clemmons and Mattie Barney of Winston-Salem.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence H. and Annie Davenport Price; a brother, Wilbur Price; and two sisters, Hazel P. Hines and Louise P. Shamel.
Services will be Saturday, Jan. 28, at 3 p.m., Tyndall Funeral Home, Mount Olive, N.C., with burial following at Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs.
Visitation will be before the service, beginning at 1 p.m. The family will also be receiving friends at the home of Eugene and Sheila Price.
