Hallelujah! The Lord has received another one of his faithful servants home.
Elizabeth "Beth" Lockamy Smith, Fremont, moved to her heavenly home Monday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center while surrounded by her family.
They are comforted today in knowing she is at the feet of Jesus.
Beth was born in Wayne County Nov. 17, 1962, to Lanis Sutton Lockamy of Goldsboro and the late Earl Lockamy.
She was a 1981 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a graduate of Wayne Community College.
Beth owned and operated, with her husband, K&B Pools in Goldsboro.
She was a lifelong member of Jefferson United Methodist Church in Goldsboro. Beth was devoted to her church, served as choir director and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith for her family and friends. Whatever she was called, Beth, Momma, GiGi, you will be missed, and we will see you soon.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Jefferson United Methodist Church, followed by a service celebrating her life at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Linda Grider and the Rev. Doug Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
In addition to her mother, Beth is survived by her husband of 32 years, Kenny Smith; daughters, Kasi Smith and Kayla Lassiter and husband, Matthew; adopted son, P.J. Flowers and wife, Lauren; and grandchildren, Austin Flowers, Emma Lassiter, Carson Wolfe and Kameren Wolfe.
She is also survived by her brother, Monty Lockamy; sisters, Leah Lockamy and Sally King and husband, James; and all the other children she and Kenny adopted along the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Jefferson United Methodist Church, 1100 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
