Louise Davis Malpass, 91, of the Rones Chapel community near Mount Olive, passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 21, at Vidant Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Mickey Whitfield and the Rev. Craig Hansen, with visitation immediately afterward. Burial will be Thursday, Jan, 26, at 10 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made to Northeast Original Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Mrs. James Merritt, 1469 Kelly Springs Road, Mount Olive, N.C. 28365, or to Alzheimer's NC, 1305 Navaho Drive, Suite 101, Raleigh N.C. 27607.
Mrs. Malpass, widow of Alton McAllister Malpass, was a lifelong member of Northeast Original Free Will Baptist Church, and she was active in its ladies auxiliary.
Her parents were William Robert Davis and Bessie Jane Price Davis, and she was the last survivor of their 12 children.
Her survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra M. and Jackie Waters of Garner; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alton McAllister Malpass Jr. and Ann Sutton Malpass, and Nelson Malpass and Scarlett Driver Malpass, all of Mount Olive; five grandchildren, Alice Ann Medlin, Alton Malpass III, Allen S. Malpass, Stevie Stancil and April Weaver; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special recognition is given to her caregiver, Edna Outlaw.
