LEWIS EDWARD (BILL) PACKER
Lewis Edward (Bill) Packer, 79, of Goldsboro passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at 3HC Hospice Care. He was born on Sept. 26, 1937, in Newton Grove to the late Swindell and Mary Monk Packer. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and Roses Stores.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Beth) and sisters, Mary Frances Jones, Kathryn Stewart and Eleanor Bowen and infant brother, James.

He is survived by his brother, Lawrence (Tommy) and wife, Annette of Garner; sisters, Margaret (Peggy) Jones of Clinton and Elizabeth and husband, Jim Woodruff of Clemson, S.C. and brother-in-law, Joe Bowen of Garner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by a stepdaughter, Judy and husband, Bob McLamb of Clinton; stepsons, Jim Greenwalt and wife, Anita of El Dorado, Ark. and Jerry Greenwalt of Shreveport, La.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton Grove with burial in the church cemetery with military honors. Visitation will follow the services.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Newton Grove; 3HC Hospice Care Goldsboro or to a charity of your choice.
