William Ray Beasley, 68, Pikeville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday morning surrounded by his family.
Ray was born in Wayne County April 21, 1948, to the late Needham Gray and Virginia Lee Combs Beasley.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church, 206 Country Day Road, Goldsboro, followed by a service celebrating Ray’s life at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Berry House and the Rev. Dallas Spence officiating. Interment will conclude the service in Pikeville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Corbett Beasley; children, Jimmy Beasley (Peggy) of Mineral, Va., Tammy Wingard Turnage (Tony) and Scott Beasley (Megan) of Pikeville; grandchildren, Chris Wingard, Kyle Wingard, Chase Hare, Collin Beasley, Jake Beasley, Tyler Turnage and Haley Morgan (Jerry); and great-grandson, Jarrett Morgan.
He is also survived by his brother, Buddy Parrish (Kaye); sisters, Pauline Smith and Louise Grice (Mike); sister-in-law, Brenda Hales; and brother-in-law, Donald Corbett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Needham and Johnny Beasley; sister, Ann Willard; stepmother, Esther Beasley; and son-in-law, David Wingard.
