EARL E. PATE

Earl Edward Pate, 86, died Monday morning at home.
He was born in Wayne County to the late Barnie and Irene Dixon Pate.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Korean War.
Earl was a member of Garner United Methodist Church.
He had retired from A and P Tea Co., and had worked for Carolina Power and Light Co.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Susan Hobbs officiating.
The family will be receiving friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Friday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and Crematory of Goldsboro.
Mr. Pate is survived by his wife of 58 years, Annette Pate; daughter, Pamela Pate Bass and husband, Robert Bruce Bass Jr., of Midlothian, Va.; brother, Morris Pate of Goldsboro, N.C.; and grandchildren, Brittany Bass and fiancé, R. Greg Messler, Autumn Bass and Robert Bruce Bass III.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pate.
