Myrtle Whaley, 76, passed away Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Goldsboro to the late Wesley and Irene Barwick, and was the widow of Vonnie Whaley.
Myrtle was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, and was a retired accountant from Adamsville TV.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Committal services will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times, at Mrs. Myrtle's residence.
Mrs. Whaley is survived by three sons, L.T. Whaley and wife, Millie, of Seven Springs, Curtis Whaley and fiancee´, Gale McIntosh, of Goldsboro and Dwayne Whaley and wife, Rita, of Raleigh; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, a son, Dennis Whaley, and a grandson, Jason Whaley, preceded her in death.
