EARL M. SMITH

Earl Monroe Smith, 95, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Earl was born in Wayne County, N.C., Nov. 20, 1920, to the late Henry Smith and Heppie Eason Smith Boyette.
He was married to the late Flonnie Howell Smith for 66 years.
Earl worked for many years with Seth B. Hollowell Oil Co. and R&H Oil Co.
He was a member of Patetown Church of God.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Howell Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Tom McClendon officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Earl is survived by his son, Linwood Smith and wife, Alice, of Goldsboro; daughter, Wilma Guilliams and fiancé, Glenn Ham, of Goldsboro; sister, Ethel Coor of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Anthony Whitley and wife, Courtney, of Roswell, Ga., and Alison S. Cox of Goldsboro; and great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Cox, Zoey Whitley and Beckham Whitley.
In addition to his wife and parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brother, Henry "Bud" Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Earl's memory to the charity of one's choice.
