Maggie Allen Melton, originally from Mount Olive, who recently celebrated her 74th birthday on September 2, transitioned to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, N.C. Maggie was born September 2, 1942 in Duplin County to the late George and Christine Graham Allen.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jerry Melton Sr. and two children, Angela Melton and Jerry Melton Jr. She is survived by three children, Eduardo (Sharion) Melton, Christine Melton and Christopher Melton, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
Family will receive guests at the family home located at 66 Silver Stirrup Court, Willow Springs, N.C. on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 22 and 23 starting at 6 p.m.
The celebration of life will take place on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the Goldsboro Events Center, 1501 S. Slocumb Street, Goldsboro N.C. 27530.
