Donald Edmundson, 77, Fremont, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, in his home.
The funeral will be held Sunday, Sept. 25,
2 p.m., in Elmwood Cemetery with Masonic rites.
The family will leave the cemetery immediately following the benediction for a time of visiting and sharing at the Fremont United Methodist Church fellowship hall.
Donald was born Feb. 24, 1939, to John R. and Dixie Barnes Edmundson.
He was a 32nd degree Mason in Home Lodge No. 613, where he served as master in 1984, 1990 and 1999.
A past member of Goldsboro Shrine Club, he served several years on a Scottish Rite degree team.
He served several years on the board of Heritage Bank in Fremont.
A retired farmer, he maintained his love for all things about farming.
Surviving is his wife, Phyllis Yelverton Edmundson; sons, Don Edmundson and wife, Linda, and Chuck Edmundson and wife, Lisa, all of Fremont; daughter, Tracey E. Ivey and husband, Mitch, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Travis Edmundson, Amanda Edmundson, Ben Ivey, John Edmundson, Cade Ivey, Ella Edmundson, Matthew Ivey, Nan Edmundson and Leah Edmundson; brother, Rudy Edmundson and wife, Karen, of Fremont; and a sister, Nanelle E. Congleton of Ayden.
Memorials are suggested to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, N.C., 27565-2717; the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 403 E. Front St., New Bern, N.C. 28560-4916; or a charity of one’s choice.
