Shelby Weeks Best, 79, longtime resident of the Dobbersville/Suttontown area near Mount Olive, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, at her daughter's home in Apopka, Fla.
She was daughter of the late Lorman and Nola Joyner Weeks, and widow of Leon Selby Best.
She worshipped at Goshen New Life Church.
Mrs. Best is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Tim Lewis of Apopka, Fla., and Cynthia and LaRay Matthews of Mount Olive; three grandchildren, Regina Lewis, Jessica Cashwell and Callie Woodring; four great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Abbigail Cashwell and Cohen and Hunter Woodring; a brother, George Ray Weeks of Fayetteville; two sisters-in-law, Linda Weeks of Northdale, N.C., and Geneva Strickland of Mount Olive.
Her family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Goshen New Life Church near Faison, with graveside funeral services to follow at 4 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park of Goldsboro.
Arrangements are with Tyndall Funeral Home of Mount Olive.
