Pastor Phyllis Artis Simms, 54, 416 Mingo Crest Drive, Knightdale, died Tuesday in Wake Medical Center of Raleigh.
She was born March 16, 1962, in Wayne County to John Lee Artis and Dora King.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Westwood Baptist Church in Cary. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery of Kinston.
Visitation Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Haskins Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will assemble at the residence in preparation for the funeral procession.
