Emily H. Jester, 81, Goldsboro, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016.
Emily was born in Belfast, N.C., July 20, 1934, to the late Hubert and Helen Howell.
She graduated from Goldsboro High School.
She graduated from Salem College, and retired with 30 years of service with Wayne County Public Schools.
She enjoyed entertaining and playing cards, and spent her early years at the beach.
She loved to reminisce about her youth, especially her older brother, Herbert, and the time spent growing up with family in Belfast. She loved current events and watching Jeopardy, and was an avid Carolina Panther fan.
She adored her dogs, Tipper and Lucky, and will be missed by friends and family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Emily was preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Howell.
Surviving relatives include son, Maurice Bond Jester and wife, Marsha, of Pikeville; one daughter, Jill Campbell and husband, Steve, of Colorado Springs; one stepgrandson, Ashley Carter and wife, Karla, of Goldsboro; three granddaughters, Amanda Jester Kline and husband, Brandon, of Goldsboro, Haley Campbell and Hannah Campbell of Colorado Springs; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Ashton and Elizabeth Carter of Goldsboro; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew Waters and Colton Kline of Goldsboro.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Willow Dale Cemetery.
