JESSE J. LANE

Jesse James Lane, 70, died Sunday, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Born in Wayne County, he was born the son of the late Ed and Nellie Gray Anderson and was raised by the late Ernest and Addie Lane. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Tarrence, Mary, James Edward, Frank, Gaynell, Sarah, Billy Ray, Dorothy and O'Max. He was the owner and operator of JJ's Tree Service and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Jackie Hamm officiating. At other times the family will be at home.
Mr. Lane is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice Lane; three sons, James Lane and his wife, Marcie of Goldsboro, Gary Lane and Larry Lane, both of Hollywood, Calif.; a sister, Betty Bland of Mount Olive; and two grandchildren, Christopher Lane and Payton Lane, both of Goldsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
