Edna Merritt Small, 81, passed away early Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Edna was born in Wayne County June 20, 1934, to the late Lafayette and Laura Rackley Merritt. She was married to the late Clinton F. Small.
Edna operated a children's daycare in Goldsboro for many years. She enjoyed the opportunities given to her by helping to impact the lives of so many young children.
Her most significant role in life and what she did best was being a loving mother.
A service celebrating Edna's life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Kinston.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Karen Rogers and husband, Sloan, of Goldsboro and Melody Vogt of Goldsboro; son, Timothy Small of Goldsboro; and grandchildren, Amber Anderson and husband, Daniel, Jamie Vogt and Matthew Vogt.
The family will receive friends Wednesday,
Feb. 10, 2016, from
7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
