Daphne Capel Poplin, 82, Princeton, passed away at the home Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016.
She was born Sept. 5, 1933, in Anson County, N.C., to the late Wiliam Oris Capel and Carrie Sasser Capel Walker. She was the widow of the late Melvin Gerald Poplin.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at 6 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Dwayne Batten officiating. The committal service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, in Stanly Gardens of Memories Cemetery in Albemarle, N.C., with the Rev. James Byers officiating.
She is survived by a son, Eddie Poplin of Princeton; daughter-in-law, Rhonda McIntosh Poplin of Princeton; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Rumble and husband, Gavin, of Lexington; sister, Elsie Hinson and husband, Richard, of Aquadale; the joy of her life, her four grandchildren, Andrea Rumble, Blake Rumble, Trent Poplin and Garrett Poplin; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rayonelle Rose, Beronia Capps and Tucker Twisdale.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 through 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, and immediately after the service at Casey Funeral Home chapel.
