Jeremy Wendell "J.J." Hargrove Jr., 5, passed peacefully while surrounded by his family at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016.
J.J. was a sweet little boy, who was brought into our lives Sept. 19, 2010, and had been a constant source of joy.
He had a smile that would make anyone light up with happiness. Although in this world only a short time, he brought such joy to everyone who met him, and the loss is felt immensely.
J.J. loved cartoons, Mickey Mouse, North Carolina Tarheels and anything bright and shiny like the stars.
He was an angel who will be truly missed. J.J. shaped lives of family, friends and random strangers in ways that made them into better people. His smile was like sunshine. His eyes sparkled with light. Though he is no longer with us in body, J.J. will never leave our hearts, minds or spirits.
The family finds hope in the fact that, though J.J. was surrounded by love in his life, he is now experiencing the perfect love of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service celebrating J.J.'s life at 11:30 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
To honor J.J.'s love for life, the family asks those attending the service to wear their favorite pajamas, as he always loved wearing his.
J.J. is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Heather Hargrove; brother, Joseph Hargrove; sister, Josalynn Hargrove; grandparents, Phyllis Hargrove of Dudley, Robert Hargrove of Dudley, Dominick Berardi of New York and Eileen Nosek of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and his great-grandmother, Marilynn Dean.
