Jason "Jaybird" Britt Ellis, 43, Stoney Creek Church Road, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at home.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at 7 p.m. at United In Christ Church.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Jason was born in Wayne County June 13, 1972, to Billy Ray and Dorothy Britt Ellis.
In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his son, Josh Ellis of the home; two brothers, James Ellis "Peanut" of Goldsboro and David Ellis "Peck" of Goldsboro; one sister, ReNee' Ellis Gay of Fremont; and nieces and nephews.
Jason was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Ellis Lanier "Teenie" and Billie Jean Ellis.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
