WAYNE O'BRIEN ANDERSON SR.

Wayne O'Brien Anderson Sr., 89, Kansas City, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Aug. 5, 2015, at Lee's Summit Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 24, 1925, in Mount Olive, N.C., the son of George and Viola Anderson.
Wayne joined the Army in 1943, and was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina during World War II.
June 1, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mary Atheleen Williams. They moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1949, and opened Andersons Rental in the early 1950s.
In Wayne's spare time, he enjoyed flying, fishing and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by one sister, Carolyn (Randy) Lee of North Carolina; four children, Brenda (Jim) Buford of Shawnee Mission, Pam (Ernie) Neal of Texas, Janet (Dave) Vink of Blue Springs and Wayne (Nancy) Anderson Jr. of Lee's Summit; grandchildren, Andrea Lindahl, Kimberly Owens, Zachary Talley, Wayne Anderson III, Zachary Bierman, Joe Dec, Mitchell Bierman, Emilie Dec, Brian Buford and Debbie Buford; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola; stepfather, Luther Hines; wife, Mary; sister, Mildred Jones; and brother, LeRoy Anderson.
Family will receive friends and relatives from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at Mount Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in Belton Cemetery, Belton, Mo.
