Arnold Raford Williams, 77, died Monday at his home in Summerville, S.C.
He was born on a cold frosty morning in Wayne County, N.C., to the late Leslie Albert Sr. and Nettie Winifred Mozingo Williams, and was married to the late Evelyn Best Mitchell and the late Barbara Lou Charlton.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with Mr. Gene Waters officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Williams is survived by a stepson, J.W. Mitchell of Bowden, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Jeannie Cornish and husband, Jimmie, of Ladson, S.C.; brothers, Leslie M. Williams, J.M. "Joe" Williams, Albert Williams Jr. and Maurice Williams; sisters, Rachel W. Cox, Peggy Williams and Sandra W. Ivey; grandchildren, Joe Cornish, Tiffany Dujinski, David Mitchell, Stephen Mitchell and John Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Ronnie Dujinski, Marcus Dujinski, Nathan Dujinski and Charles Dujinski; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, C.J. "Carroll" Williams and Arthur C. "Art" Williams, and sister, Pauline W. Shafer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 3219 Landmark St., Greenville N.C., or The National Kidney Foundation Inc., 30 E. 33rd St., New York, N.Y., 10016.
