AMANDA LEE SMITH

Amanda Rose Lee Smith, a Faison resident, passed away Friday morning, June 5, 2015, at the home of her mother. She was 48.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 7, at 5 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and will be led by the Rev. Jeff Dail and the Rev. J. C. Millard, with visitation to immediately follow. Burial will be Monday, June 8, at 11 a.m. in Faison Cemetery in Faison, N.C.
Friends and family are being received at Amanda's residence and also at the home of her mother.
Amanda was employed with Duplin County Schools at North Duplin Elementary School as a teacher's assistant in the pre-kindergarten program. She was passionate about her job, loved "her" children and enjoyed a close relationship with her co-workers.
She worshipped at Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Lee, and is survived by her husband, Douglas W. Smith, and her son, John Douglas Smith, both of the home; her mother, Mary Louise Hobbs Lee of Faison; a sister, Bonnie Lee Lisenby of Faison, along with her special friend, Phil Kaylor; a niece, Ashley Baldwin and husband, Brandon, of Dunn; a nephew, Travis Lee of Faison; her mother-in-law, Irene G. Hill of Seven Springs; and her three beloved pet dogs, Penny, Bubba and Tick.
