RAY HARE

Wilford Ray Hare, 74, Pikeville, passed away Thursday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Ray was born in Wilson County Dec. 13, 1940, to the late Chester and Margaret Moore Hare.
He worked for many years as a real estate broker and appraiser for Hare-Brantley Real Estate in Goldsboro.
Ray lived a life of dedication to his family and friends, and to his community. He served his community many ways while a member of Pikeville Lions Club.
Ray was also a longtime member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 31, 2015, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. in Pikeville Cemetery, with the Rev. Barry Stallings officiating.
Ray is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gaye Lancaster Hare; son, Chris Hare and wife, Mitzi, of Nahunta; daughter, Susan Hare Herring of Pikeville; sister, Gloria Hare Bland and husband, Peter, of Novato, Calif.; brother, Kenneth Hare of Goldsboro; and the apples of his eye, Madison Hare, Kristen Hare and Presley Herring.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the North Carolina Lions Club Inc., 7050 Camp Dogwood Drive, Sherrills Ford, N.C., 28673, or Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 10, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
