Sara Whaley Branch, 83, Richmond, Va., former resident of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., died Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, Va.
Mrs. Branch was born in Elizabeth City, N.C., the daughter of the late John H. and Sallie Wright Whaley.
She was a homemaker and the widow of William P. Branch and Don Lucian Austin Sr.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Wright Branch and her partner, Lynn Dail Branch, of Goldsboro, N.C., and Sallie Branch Levitch and her husband, Leonard David Levitch, of Richmond, Va.; a son, William Patterson Branch Jr. and his wife, Zefy Konstant Branch, of Richmond, Va.; and five grandchildren, Elinore Grayson Levitch, Sara Patterson Levitch, Anastasia Whaley Branch, Louis Gabriel Branch and Olivia Sara Branch, all of Richmond, Va.
The family will receive at Wrenn Clarke and Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service, 1015 W. Fifth St., Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Tuesday, April 21, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Rosemary Baptist Church, 936 Jackson St., Roanoke Rapids, N.C., with Dr. Layne Wallace and the Rev. Tom Bodkin officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
