HORACE "H.L." BARNES

Horace "H.L." Barnes, 83, died Thursday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
He was born in Wilson County to the late Hugh and Cora Barnes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy F. Barnes, and son, Ronald Barnes.
He was an active member of Adamsville Baptist Church.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Elaine L. Barnes; two sons and daughter-in-law, Dean and Sandra Barnes and Mark Barnes, of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Rocky Barnes and Bryan and Megan Barnes; two great-grandchildren, Parker Barnes and Brayden Barnes; four step-children and eight step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with pastors Dave Kearn and Bobby Heath officiating.
Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will be receiving friends Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home
In addition to flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Adamsville Baptist Church, 1302 N. Berkeley Blvd. Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
