PATSY WINDERS GINN

March 10, 1942-Aug. 3, 2014

Mrs. Patsy Winders Ginn, 72, resident of Hunters Glenn in Washington, N.C., passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at her home.

Patsy was born in Wayne County March 10, 1942, daughter of the late Aaron and Emily Benton Winders.

She graduated from Nahunta High School, and married Eschol "Kermitt" Ginn, who preceded her in death April 13, 2013.

Patsy was a homemaker, and also a partner in Ginn's Seafood. She loved working.

Patsy attended Alligood Church of God, and was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Fremont, N.C.

Survivors include her daughter, Angela Modlin and husband, Shelly; her son, Lawrence Ginn and wife, Brandy, all of Washington; her grandchildren, Scott Modlin, Chelsea Carney, Brittany Kirkedahl, Christina Ginn, Brooke Jefferson and Ethan Ginn; her great-grandchildren, Christopher Modlin, Cassidy Modlin, Dominick Kirkedahl, Aubree Kirkedahl and Kaysenn Kirkedahl; and her sisters, Marie Sanderford of Leigh High Acres and Annette Howell of Pikeville, N.C.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Ginn Carney June 21, 2007, and her brother, Sheriff Carey Aaron Winders.

A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, officiated by pastor Phillip Jethro. Burial will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

Scott Modlin, Johnny Howell, Clyde Alligood, Dewayne Asby, Allen Hardison and Shawn Cutler will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Service and Cremations, 4500 N.C. 264 East, Washington, N.C., and other times at the home.
