Ila Grey Smith, 87, formerly of Pikeville, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in Alabama.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Pikeville Cemetery in Pikeville.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Smith was born in Wayne County Jan. 19, 1927, to the late Ernest and Davie Davis Cooke.
She was a lifelong member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Williamson of Vinemont, Ala.; a son, Jerry Smith of Winston-Salem; her brother, Billy Cooke of Robertsdale, Ala.; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy Smith; her sisters, Evelyn Howell and Ruth Hinnant; and brothers, Alton Cooke and Rudolph Cooke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro or Woodland Village Health Care, 1600 Olive St., Cullman, Ala., 35055.
The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St. in Fremont.
