SALLY H. MCGUIRE

Sally "Betsy" Hill McGuire, 81, Pikeville, passed away Monday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Mrs. McGuire was born Sept. 16, 1932, to the late Robert Lee Hill and Rachel Bailey Hill.
She graduated from Fremont High School and Crumpler Business and Secretarial School. Mrs. McGuire continued taking classes over the years at Wayne Community College.
Mrs. McGuire retired with Wachovia Bank.
She was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Circle.
Betsy was a loving and devoted mother, wife, sister and friend to all.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at Seymour Funeral Home beginning at 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Rose Hicks and pastor Richard Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. McGuire is survived by her husband, Harry Lee "Sammy" McGuire; daughter, Deborah Chestnutt and husband, Dwight, of Pikeville; sisters, Joyce Ferrell of Black Creek and Janet Hill of Lucama; and her brother, Franklin "Buddy" Hill of Rockingham.
She is also survived by two grandchildren, DeeDee Cassady and Scott Chestnutt, and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McGuire was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Ray Braswell; her sister, Mary Howell; and her brother, James Robert Hill.
