DENISE H. LIES

Denise Honeycutt Lies, 57, passed away on Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Denise was born in Durham County on August 6, 1956 to the late William Honeycutt and Phyllis Paschall Wright. She was a member of The Word Church in Goldsboro. Denise, an avid Jeff Gordon Fan, was a woman who loved God, her family, life and was loved by everyone who knew her. She enjoyed fishing, reading and playing games on her Kindle. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her precious grandchildren. She will be missed.
The family received friends Saturday at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service celebrating her life in the chapel with Pastor Matt Bartlett officiating. Interment was in the Ennis Family Cemetery in Benson.
Denise is survived by her husband of 20 years, Jeffrey Lies; sons, Justin Alexander and wife, Denise of Centre, Ala. and Jeremy Alexander of Goldsboro; sisters, Tina Oliver and husband, Paul of Hermitage, Mo. and Cindy Hughes and husband, Kip of Madison Heights, Va.; two grandchildren, Austin Dakota Alexander and Heather Renee Alexander; and nieces and nephews, Adam and Callie Hughes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nanny, Naomi Paschall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216 Alexandria, Va. 22312.
