Dorothy Davis Holt, 91, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Vidant Medical Center.
She was born in Wayne County Nov. 7, 1922, to the late Lemuel and Mary Howell Davis. She was married to the late John Ellington Holt.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Pine Forest United Methodist Church.
The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Joan Harper and husband, Frank; grandsons, Justin Kennedy and wife, Corie, of Deep Run and Trey Williams and significant other, Adrianna de La Nuez, of Raleigh; great-granddaughter, Palmer Grey Kennedy and one she was anticipating the arrival of another in September, Lacie Grace; and a stepgreat-grandson, Brody Hamilton.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; a special brother-in-law, Leslie Williams; and a special friend, Bo of Kinston.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mae Williams, Esther Sasser, Selma Gufford, Ellen Sullivan and Eva Elmore, and brothers, Lloyd Davis, Patrick Davis, Travis Davis and Voyad Davis.
